Black Metal bands
202 bands in rotation on Metal TV
Black metal grew out of the raw, cold sound of Venom, Bathory and Celtic Frost in the 1980s, and took its modern shape in Norway in the early 1990s: tremolo-picked riffs, blast beats, shrieked vocals and production that values atmosphere over polish. From there it split into countless directions, from the frozen rawness of the old guard to atmospheric, symphonic and post-black bands that trade aggression for vast, melancholic soundscapes.
These are the black metal bands airing on Metal TV, most of them underground acts you will not hear on the radio. Watch their music videos, see who is climbing this week's chart, catch their new releases and upcoming shows, and press play on any band to send their song to Requests TV.
