Phone remote
Watching on the TV or a big screen? Turn your phone into a remote and control what's playing without getting off the couch. It works like a real TV remote.
How to use it
- Sign in to the same Metal TV account on both devices: the one that's playing (your TV or computer) and your phone.
- On your phone, open Remote from the menu (or go to metaltv.live/remote).
- It connects to your other device automatically. If more than one is open, tap the line at the top to switch between them.
What you can control
- Channel – tap any channel to switch what's playing on your TV instantly.
- Volume – the − and + buttons step the TV's volume up and down, and the level flashes in the corner of the TV.
- Mute – mute or unmute the TV.
- Follow band and Save track – add the band or track that's playing to your library.
The remote also shows what's playing on your TV, so you always know what you're controlling.
Good to know
- Both devices need to be signed in to the same account with Metal TV open. If your TV isn't connected, the remote will tell you.
- You can only ever control your own devices – nobody else can reach them.
- The remote is a member feature, so it needs a free Metal TV account.
