Add bands & videos

The catalogue grows with help from members. You need a free account with a confirmed email to contribute. There are three ways to add to it.

Submit a Metal Archives band

If a band already exists on Metal Archives but is not on Metal TV yet, use Submit Band in the header and paste the band's Metal Archives URL. We queue it, scrape its details, and look for official videos automatically. If we already have it, we will point you to it.

Add your own band

For a band that is not on Metal Archives, go to My Account → Bands → Add Band. You then fill it in yourself on its profile page, with everything saving as you go (no page reloads):

  • Name, country and genre.
  • Band photo, logo, and per-release cover art (upload or remove).
  • Bio and the full discography: releases, tracks and links.

A new band starts as a private draft. When it has at least an image and a song, hit Publish to make it public and eligible to air. You can edit or delete it any time, and you must confirm the content is not AI generated.

Add a video to a song

Videos are added per song, from the band's public page:

  1. Go to the Bands page and open the band (you can also reach it from the Profile link on the player).
  2. In the band's discography, find the song.
  3. Click the always-visible + on that track and paste the YouTube URL.

(Band owners can also add a video while adding or editing a track in their band editor.) Submitted videos go to pending review; once an operator approves a video it enters the ingest pipeline and can start airing. Only official music videos / studio uploads are accepted, no live versions or lyric videos.

Only published bands with an approved, downloaded video are scheduled on the channel.
