Thrash Metal from the United States
California has always been fertile ground for thrash metal, leading the charge with some of the genre's most legendary acts. San Diego's Nukem follows in the footsteps of thrash metal's founding fathers, producing the kind of time-tested, neck-breaking thrash that invokes deep nostalgia while still sounding fresh and modern. Formed in 2012, Nukem released their debut album "The Unholy Trinity", mixed and mastered by Ulrich Wild (Pantera, Static-X, Dethklok, White Zombie), via Sleaszy Rider Records out of Greece. The band went back into the studio with Ulrich Wild for their second album, "The Grave Remains": ten songs of pure molten metal, some full-on, unstoppable thrash violence, others more of a mid-tempo power groove. It was released on April 10th, 2026 via Redefining Darkness Records, with guest solos by metal greats Gary Holt and Lee Altus (Exodus), Rob Cavestany (Death Angel), Russ Tippins (Satan) and Laura Christine (Dark Angel), who also regularly plays second guitar with Nukem live.
