Deathcore from New Zealand
Darktide are a deathcore band from Auckland, New Zealand, formed in 2023 by Ethan Wilson (vocals), Rohan Jenkins and James Mathers (guitars), Raymond Murray (bass) and Daniel Wiseman (drums). Their sound pairs blackened aggression with a haunting, atmospheric edge. Their debut EP, No One, Nowhere, Nothing, came out in June 2023, led by the single No One. It is a record about existential dread: losing touch with other people, then with reality, then falling into the void. Rohan Jenkins produced and mixed it and Luke Finlay (Primal Mastering) mastered it. The video for Nothing was edited by Ethan Wilson from band footage shot by Red Rogers. Mourn followed in October 2025: three songs about loss, decay and pain that will not let go, with Lana Paige guesting on Saltwound.
