About

Black Metal from New Zealand

Windswept is a black metal band from Wellington, New Zealand, formed in 2024: in their own words, "black metal from the howling Southerly winds of Wellington". Their songs deal with death, rot, nature and environmental destruction. The band is Rachel Collins on vocals, Isaac Lundy (also of Imperial Slave) and Fynn Graves on guitars, Izack Arthur on bass, and Steve Francis (Bulletbelt, Red Dawn) on drums. Their first single, "Cenote", came out in March 2025 and was featured in the film Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon. It is also on their debut album, Howling in Baptismal Filth, released on 29 May 2026 through Northern Void Records on vinyl, cassette and digital, along with a music video for "Cenote" directed by Amber Beaton.
