Nu Metal / Metalcore from the United States
Dreams Aside are a nu metal and metalcore band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their sound pairs metalcore rhythms with soaring lead guitars, with Sevendust, Killswitch Engage and Deftones among their influences. The band have been releasing music since 2019 and completed their lineup in December 2020. Their debut album, Lotus (2022), features guests Björn "Speed" Strid of Soilwork on "Sleepwalker" and John Howard on "Harbinger". Their second album, Phoenix, follows in 2026, with Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage guesting on "Element of One". "My Window", a single from Phoenix, explores the impact of narcissistic abuse and trauma, and the process of breaking free from destructive cycles. Its video was made by Lane Peterson with Rainfade Media, and the song was produced and mixed by Joe Johnson at Tone Traktor Audio.
