Pictured from left to right: Franco Sesa, Martin E. Ain, Tom G. Warrior. Tom G. Warrior and Martin E. Ain formed Celtic Frost after the break-up of Hellhammer in June 1984. Contrary to popular belief, Hellhammer never changed its name to Celtic Frost, even though the band formed very quickly after Hellhammer's demise. They first disbanded in 1987, but six months later, Warrior reformed the band. After doing so, the band released Cold Lake, which turned out to be largely different from anything else they have ever recorded. The band has repeatedly disowned this release, attributing the shocking change in style to pressure from their record company at the time, Noise Records. When they reformed in 2001, they founded their own record label, Prowling Death Records, and their own publishing imprint, Diktatur des Kapitals, to gain absolute control over their music. Later, Celtic Frost and Prowling Death Records signed a worldwide licensing deal with Century Media Records, so the rights for their new material are their own and are released by Century Media Records. Singer and guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer announced his departure from Celtic Frost on April 9th, 2008, due to "the unresolvable, severe erosion of the personal basis so urgently required to collaborate within a band so unique, volatile, and ambitious". It was confirmed in a joint statement by Fischer and Martin E. Ain in September of that year that Celtic Frost had disbanded again. Fischer later founded a new band called Triptykon, and Ain planned to carry on with a new project with drummer Franco Sesa. In 1992, they recorded a demo to garner label interest, with songs in a similar style to the material on Vanity/Nemesis. It has been given the title Nemesis of Power, but there is no evidence to suggest it was ever officially publicly released. Its tracklist is as follows: 1. Devil and the Flesh (4:34) 2. Untitled (5:30) A riff from "Pearl of Love" was recycled for the beginning of "Domain of Decay" on Monotheist, and the untitled track is "Under Apollyon's Sun" from Parched with Thirst Am I and Dying. A demo tape called Prototype exists. Among other tracks, it contains two Apollyon Sun tracks, "Relinquished Body" and "Deep Inside".
