Not to be confused with: - Aeterna Nox (Alternative/Gothic Metal band from Moscow) Contact: gothiknox@mail.ru Initially, the project existed as a duo for about six months and was conceived musically as symphonic metal with black metal and gothic influences. During the first demo recording, almost half of the material was discarded, and classical instruments were added, such as flute, clarinet, piano, and classical guitar. The first concert took place at a young performers’ competition in the city of Balabanovo, where the band, already consisting of four members and performing without a vocalist, won second place for their performance. Over the next eight months, Aeterna Nox played more than ten concerts, recorded two more demo tapes, and won another award in a different competition. The band was active until ~2011-12. In 2005, lead guitarist Sanches and bassist Stepan Voynov recorded a new album of entirely classical music with clear elements of folk and light gothic, entitled Gothic Nox. Following a hiatus, Sanches revived the project, which continues its activity to this day.
